Poland, Medal for the half-century anniversary of the January Uprising 1914, Bernstein order, Unger Lvov

A rare medal issued in 1914 by Bernstein on the 50th anniversary of the fall of the January Uprising.

Both sides of the medal designed and executed by the famous Lvov medalist E. Unger.

Variety in bronze.

Obverse: image of Our Lady of Czestochowa on a three-field shield with Eagle, Pogo and St. George, in the rim legend:
HALF-CENTURY ANNIVERSARY OF THE UPRISING OF JANUARY..;

Reverse: in a crown of thorns the inscription HONESTY/POLLEGALS AND LOSERS/1863/4;

Patina, tarnish. Lightly struck.

Bronze, diameter without ear 23 mm, weight 4.1 g.
