"Kaskad is a business and residential complex in Minsk, located in the Frunzensky district. From the beginning of the protests, the Cascades neighborhood was active and came up with creative solutions for flying red-white flags on a rope between two skyscrapers, preventing access for government workers responsible for blocking the protest. When they showed up with a crane to remove the flag, the protesters would steal the flag in front of their opponents' noses. Several of these incidents were recorded on video, which then went viral. On November 10, Cascad displayed a pair of giant underwear in red, white and white protest colors. The footage of the special action by police who arrived to take it down became known as "OMON taking off the underwear." Since then, this protest neighborhood, along with many others, has been plagued by police who have repeatedly raided the private homes of ordinary citizens without providing search warrants. The flags of the Cascades building complex have become a well-known symbol of protest and a symbolic tug-of-war with the regime." Rufina Balzova
