Single-sided letter on A5 sheet, on UC Berkeley Slavic Department letterhead. Milosz asks for acceptance of his textbook on the history of Polish literature (not preserved here) (the book was published in 1969), adding the comment: "Of course, the introduction is missing here." Vertical sheet crease, good condition.
C. Miłosz (1911-2004) - poet, prose writer, essayist, literary historian, translator, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature for 1980. From 1951 to 1993 he was in exile in France and the USA. After his departure, he was banned from printing in the People's Republic of Poland until 1980.
