Slight loss of spine and corner of front cover, minor staining of one page; good condition. Book debut of the later winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature who was 22 years old at the time. The poems included here (there are 13) are surprising in their poetic maturity, heralding the birth of a great literary talent. The volume was awarded the Philomath Prize for literary debut by the Vilnius Branch of the Professional Union of Polish Writers. On the last page an imprint informing about the time when the poems were written (1930 and 1932), and the name of the literary group that founded the volume: "Pions" ("Sailors").
