Ivan Trusz at the School of Fine Arts in Krakow, where he studied from 1891-1897, was a student of, among others.
Leon Wyczółkowski and Jan Stanisławski, among others. Undoubtedly, the influence of these two painters, especially
Stanislawski's landscape master, influenced his artistic fate. They were also - as in this case -
small sections of this Danube countryside - single haystacks, solitary trees, flowering plants
in a garden or orchard. However, the painter was fascinated not only by the native landscape. He traveled a lot,
visiting places exotic to him. He was enchanted by the not-so-distant Crimea, after all, but also by Italy,
Palestine and Egypt.
