Copperplate, paper. Signed in pencil p.d. "Slania" and on the fawn "Cz. Slania sc.". Dimensions: 12 x 9.5 cm; sheet: 22 x 17.5 cm (sheet slightly cropped).
Portrait of Frédéric Chopin according to a painting by Eugene Delacroix from 1838. Slanai made this miniature for the cover of a carnet issued by the Polish Post Office on the occasion of the 5th F. Chopin International Piano Competition in 1955.

Czeslaw Slania (1921-2005) - Polish engraver, designer of postage stamps and banknotes.
