Tsuru means crane in Japanese. Cranes (鶴, つる) are animals that have an established place in Japanese beliefs. They are a symbol of luck and longevity. . They accompany, for example, one of the Seven Gods of Luck (七福神, しちふくじん), Fukurokuju (福禄寿).
