Biography
Marian L. Nijinski was a painter, graphic artist, ceramicist, also a poet and playwright. He studied at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts in 1928- 32, under W. Jarocki, K. Frycz, W. Weiss and sculpture under X. Dunikowski. He made his debut as a poet in 1929; he was associated with a group of young writers centered around Karol Hubert Rostworowski. He lived in Cracow until 1932, and then in Warsaw, where he first worked as a drawing teacher at a Warsaw gymnasium, and later was a librarian at the Polish Academy of Literature. He painted landscapes-especially of Podkarpacie, Podhale and Pieniny-and still lifes.
