Jacob Gustav Hahn (Hann, Han) was born in Berlin in 1856, and it is unknown when he arrived in Vilnius. Probably around 1789, since at that time he enrolled as a magister with Nataniel May and Benjamin Kieyda. In 1790 he was admitted to the Vilnius guild as a master, and from 1802-1804 he served as guild elder. In 1811 he became a councilor of the city magistrate.
