"Eduard August Hildebrandt traveled a lot. Sources say that he reached all continents except Antarctica. The result of his voyages were numerous depictions of exotic landscapes and customs of the inhabitants of the regions he visited. In the 1860s xixth century he went on a voyage around the world, during which he visited the Mediterranean, Indochina and the United States. The view of the Cairo bazaar presented in the exhibition may have been created during this trip." ("City of the Romantics.
