Biography
He was a cartoonist and illustrator. He worked in a realist manner. From 1872 to 1878 he studied in Warsaw at the Fourth Gymnasium, then at the Real School of J. Pankiewicz, and from 1880 to 1881 at the Warsaw Drawing School of Gerson and Kaminski. Influenced by Andriolli, he became interested in illustration. From 1880 he drew up cover designs and plans for the magazine Gardener, whose editor was his brother Edmund. He was a contributor to many illustrated magazines. At the beginning of 1886 he settled in Warsaw, where he established cooperation with Zygmunt Sarnecki, editor of the biweekly magazine 'Świat'. In 1887 he won first prize at the TPSP competition. In 1888 he left for France. He was a regular contributor to the magazine 'Illustration' for three years.
