The painting from 1948 in the possession of a family of collectors from Cracow, collector's condition- good, does not require restoration.
A. Kozakiewicz studied from 1857 to 1866 at the School of Fine Arts in Cracow under the direction of W. Luszczkiewicz and F. Szynalewski. From 1868 he studied at the Vienna Academy. From 1871 to 1900 he lived in Munich, and after returning to Poland in Warsaw and Szczawnica. He painted realistic genre scenes, portraits, landscapes, paintings with historical content, motifs from the January Uprising - in which he took part. Awarded medals at exhibitions, including those in Vienna, Munich and Berlin. Very popular in Germany, Austria, the United States and England.
