The side element of the trestles is the so-called "cat's ear", which is the coat of arms emblem of the Kettler family.
This is a very rare type of trestle mug made on the basis of the coat of arms emblem.

The Kettler family came from Courland, of which Gotthard Kettler - made a deal with King Sigismund Augustus and, as Teutonic Master, donated Inflants to Poland, retaining the Duchy of Courland for himself. His daughter Anna was the wife of Albrecht Radziwill and mother of Mikolaj Radziwill the Black.
The Kettler family is noted in Polish heraldry.
