Biography
Studied art history at the Catholic University of Lublin since 1956. He was a co-founder of the Zamek Group. His first painterly compositions can be described as metaphorical. Since 1958, the artist experimented with the surface of the painting, introducing near-painting, concrete matter. The artist's most interesting experience was the "formuras", or paintings-objects of complex texture, molded in plaster, executed in 1960-64. Since the mid-1960s, the artist has been fascinated by the problems of visualizing space, movement and light (RYTMS, 1971; PERMUTATIONS, 1973). In the 1980s, Ziemski extremely simplified his palette and in his last works used only black and white (METAMORPHOSES series). A regular participant in plein-airs and symposia, including the KOSZALIŃSKI PLENARS in Osieki.
