Sculptor, descended from a Jewish family, born in Russia. Around 1889 he went to Vienna, where he began his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts under R. von Weyr and H. Hellmer. He also took private lessons in the studio of C. von Zumbusch. Since 1893, he has been in Paris. He studied at the Académie Julian under A. Mercié and A. Boucher. At the beginning of the 20th century he went to New York. He performed mainly private commissions. His works are in private and public collections including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Harvard Law School, Cambridge; White House, Washington.
