Empress figure

bone, carved and engraved; height 29 cm, base 5.8 x 4.8 cm.
China, late 19th c. - early 20th century. (late Qing dynasty period).
Figure of a lady with elaborately pinned and decorated hair, wearing a long robe decorated with a motif of circular patterns and scales. In the right hand - a rose flower; the left hand supports a sash made of a long double cord with two clasps.
On the oval base - engraved with Chinese characters in a square cartouche - signature.
State of preservation: chipping on the bottom of the base, damage to the hand.
