Base in the form of an elongated rectangle - depicting a homestead with a bent figure of a woman in sabots, blouse and ruffled skirt, working at digging potatoes held with both hands with a three-pronged hoe; to the right - a partially filled basket.
Signature on base at front left: "FRITZ / GARTNER"; in the middle: "CUSS / v. GLADENBECK'S BRONCE GIESSEREI G. m. b. h.".
The German artist was a painter, printmaker, sculptor and medalist.
