The founder of the workshop was Jakob Hersch Kurzer, who between 1904 and 1908 entered into partnership with Gustav Wolf, changing the company's name to Kurzer & Wolf. They specialized in smoking accessories such as cigarette cases, cigarette boxes, tobacco boxes and lighters. They operated until about 1924.
