Goldsmith's marks: the hallmark of the Morozov Trading House with the two-headed eagle of the Tsar, the hallmark of the St. Petersburg Assay Office from 1908-1926, the auxiliary hallmark (head in a coccyx)
and the goldsmith's mark "J. A." (Johann Allenius, active 1898-1908).

The Morozov Trading House, operating in Gostiny Dvor in St. Petersburg, was founded in 1849 by goldsmith and merchant Ivan Yakimovich Morozov. It was the largest jewelry and silver store in the 2nd half of the 19th and early 20th centuries. Despite having its own workshops, part of the assortment was sourced from outside craftsmen. Hence, some products bore the marks of independent goldsmiths alongside the Morozov company's mark. The Morozov Trading House held the title of Supplier to His Majesty's Court, and the products signed with its mark were of very high quality.
