Covers slightly yellowed, traces of dampstain on spine of vol. 2, good condition. Ex. in part uncut. In vol. 1 a handwritten dedication by Lucja Banachowa, the author's widow, to Hugo Steinhaus "as a heartfelt gift for 30 years of steadfast friendship for us, both in days of glory and sorrow". Printed on the front page: "This book was printed in Sweden as a gift from the Swedish Government for the restoration of Polish culture." The work was first published in 1938.
