Artwork description:
Stanislaw Jakubczyk's oeuvre developed primarily in the direction of abstract painting, but the artist also created figurative works embedded in the trend of realism.
The featured painting is generic in nature and is set in a rural setting. The composition depicts a letter carrier, who is captured at the moment of searching in his bag for a suitable letter. The man is accompanied by a young woman, presumably found at work - she is just wiping her hands on her apron to pick up the correspondence with clean hands.
The work is almost a reporter's record of everyday life. What draws attention in the painting is the richness of texture and colors used, as well as interesting chiaroscuro solutions.
