Private seal of Frederick Augustus III Wettin (1865-1932), King of Saxony 1904-1918. Executed Dresden or Wroclaw 1910-1930. Seal piston of the last King of Saxony, descendant of Polish Kings Augustus II and Augustus III and relative of Frederick Augustus, Duke of Warsaw. He owned a large neo-Gothic castle in Silesia, Szczodre (Sybillenort) near Wroclaw where he settled permanently after abdicating and died. He was a lover of hunting, for which he had a hunting manor in Dobrodzień (Guttentag) near Olesno. The elegant but simple and ornamentally sparing form of the seal points to the early 20th century.
