!"PLEASE NOTE: This project does not call for suicidal or self-inflicted actions. The work is an exploration of the theme of death as a metaphor, presenting a collective image of the artist's feelings and emotions over the past year.
Project: 10 Deaths
A year ago, my therapist asked me how I could characterize this year in one word. The first and most apt word that came to mind was "death."
This project was created by me throughout the year and consists of two parts.
The first part includes gallows molds (10 pieces). Each piece is accompanied by a short text. Each gallows symbolizes a specific internal emotional state that I experienced during the past year.

The second part is "Diary of Tears." Throughout the year I took photos of myself crying using a Polaroid camera, captioning the date of each of these moments. These two projects are closely related, because the thoughts, events and emotions that triggered my tears are closely related to internal changes and these "deaths."

10 Deaths - are 10 fabric objects, in the form of gallows, each with its own characteristics, name and brief description.

Tasha Katsuba (1995, Minsk, Belarus)
I am an artist and fashion designer.
Since 2015, I have been actively participating in exhibitions in Belarus and abroad. In 2020, I held my first solo exhibition "HOME" at the Palace of Fine Arts in Minsk.
In 2021, I launched my clothing brand KATSUBA.
In June 2021, I left Belarus for Ukraine. In May 2022, I moved from Ukraine to Poland due to the war. Since May 2022, I have been living and working in Gdansk.

SOLO EXHIBITIONS
2023- "Candidate for Faith" / Exhibition Office / Warsaw, PL 2023 - "Attempt to get rid of shame" / Artists Colony / Gdansk, PL
2023 - "209 days of gray" / Promocyina Gallery / Warsaw, PL
2020 - "HOME" / Palace of Art / Minsk, BY.

...-"The main feature of my work is its autobiographical nature. If we consider the works that have been created, we can clearly trace the connection between the chosen medium and a personal life stage.
From expressive painting with scenes from biography to small philosophical prints made in exile. Periods of reflection, self-confidence, depression, the pursuit of ambition, elevation from love relationships, emigration disorientation - all can be recreated by placing paintings, drawings, sculptures or textiles side by side.
In my works, I don't hide feelings under a concept, I conduct a diary style of narration and explore the world of human relations with myself or the viewer. Until 2020, the center of my creative practice was my own triune self and its relationship with my immediate family circle, especially my parents and family home. The result was a solo exhibition called "Home," at which, perhaps anticipating future changes, I concluded that Home had ceased to be a physical place only remaining within me and in my suitcase for the move. In addition to the gradual personal opening vs. transformation in experiencing the same themes, the cohesive element of my work is the use of a variety of materials and the desire to blur the boundaries between forms of artistic expression. So, in 2018 - epoxy resin and textiles become the dominant element in painting and already in 2021, working with textiles and costumes become a priority point."
