Biography
Known both for her work in monumental sculpture and small ceramic compositions. A student of Xawery Dunikowski at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. She has participated in many competitions for monuments, including: Bohaterów Ziemi Kieleckiej (1966 - honorable mention), Zwycięstwa i Wolności, Warsaw 1967 (with T. Łodzianą and J. Nachtman - third prize), international competition for the Monument to a Polish Soldier and German Anti-Fascist, 1968 (with T. Łodzianą and J. Nachtman - first prize). More important realizations: Monument to the Executed, Kielce 1961; Monument to the Partisans, St. Catherine 1962; Head of Nicolaus Copernicus, Havana 1973. Known for creating portraits of well-known contemporary as well as historical personalities, including Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, Vaclav Havel and Pope John Paul II.
