Zbigniew Bury, born in 1966 in Wadowice. He studied at the Private School of Visual Arts in Bielsko-Biała. While restoring a polychrome in Gierałtowice, he befriends artist Karol Pustelnik, a member of the "Krakow Group." They remain in close contact until the death of Karol Pustelnik (2010). In 1996, together with the artist Piotr Jargusz, he founded the art group "Studio TU." In 1997, he participates in the art fair "Kunst Findet Kunst" in Munich, where he presents works on the problem of freedom in post-communist countries. In 2002, in Isny (Germany), his project called "Red Line Art - European Art.- Project 2002" wins the greatest recognition and is realized. He exhibits at home and abroad. Zbigniew Bury is an interdisciplinary artist, practicing painting, ceramics, sculpture. Since 2008, he has simultaneously created caricature works under the pseudonym Alex Johanson. In 2009, the artist was awarded the Silver Medal of the "Labor Omnia Vincit" Society, which is the highest recognition of his professional, artistic and socio-cultural activities to date, and in 2013 he received the "Meritorious for Polish Culture" badge awarded by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Bogdan Zdrojewski. In 2020, he receives a Diploma of Honor from the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine in Kiev. He is a member of the NADSKAWIE Art Group, which operates at the Wadowice Land Lovers Society and the Kazimierska Konfraternia Sztuki - Art Colony in Kazimierz Dolny.
