Władysław Hasior, using everyday objects,
damaged dolls, glass vessels, tree branches, scraps of fabric,
wires and many other elements, he composed assemblage, thanks to which
his artistic activity was not only a creative provocation, but also an
intellectual. The artist believed that the elements he used
have the ability to suggest specific content, at the same time he created a
personal mystery of objects. In some of them, such as bread, soap,
candle, one can also find symbolic, philosophical
and even religious-spiritual. In 2014, Krakow's MOCAK
held an exhibition of the sculptor's works, in the catalog to it you can find
even a personal dictionary of visual symbols with meanings assigned to them.
The angel is mentioned there as a symbol of benevolent, Christian
indifference. The figure has appeared in the works of Władysław Hasior since the 1960s.
1960s, Andrzej Banach links it to the artist's wartime experiences.
The fact is, however, that in the documentation, slides, photographs, press clippings
press clippings, collected by the artist, the figure of a winged figure or an
angel occupies a prominent place. Currently, own galleries of works by Władysław
Hasior can boast the Tatra Museum in Zakopane
and the Municipal Art Center in Gorzow Wielkopolski.
