metal composition, marble; overall height: 63.5 cm.
Allegorical sculpture: figure of a barefoot woman in a flared, sash-tied gown, stepping over rubble with a naked child huddled to her left side and her right hand raised with a banner. On the base at the front the inscription: "TEMPETE"; literally: "storm" - here in the meaning: "agitation", "turmoil"; the figure is a symbol of revolutionary sentiment. Signature of the sculptor: "V. Morey" on the back of the base; above, a circular warranty mark: in the middle, a casting crucible and an inscription: "PARIS"; in the rim: "FABRICATION FRANÇAISE-MADE IN FRANCE". The whole on a pink marble plinth.
France, Paris, ca. 1890.
