Graduated from the State Secondary School of Fine Arts in Zakopane (1950) and the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow (1961). Studied at the Department of Sculpture with Prof. Stanislaw Poplawski and Prof. Jerzy Bandura, and at the Study of Conservation of Works of Art with Prof. Jozef Dutkiewicz. A long-time professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. He worked at the university until 2000. He received the title of associate professor in 1982 and full professor in 1992. He realized works mainly in wood and the last years brought an extraordinary flowering of creative forces, which resulted in many outstanding sculpture-painting realizations. The retrospective exhibition at the Polish Sculpture Center in Oronsko in 2007, where he presented works from his early period as well as his most recent works, including dozens of spatial objects, bas-reliefs, reliefs, collages and small sculptural forms, had a significant impact.
