Sculptor born in 1944 in Bialystok. He began his artistic education at the High School of Fine Arts in Suprasl, and continued in1964-70 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk at the Department of Sculpture in the studio of prof.Franciszek Duszenko and in the studio of Architectural and Sculptural Design under Prof. Adam Smolana. He received his diploma with honors in 1970.
In 1972-75 he was a visual artist for the City of Bialystok, in 1975-77 he was a visual artist at the Tourist Design Bureau, in 1979-89 he was an art advisor at the Bialystok State Art School. Since 2000, as an employee of the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning at Bialystok University of Technology, he led the sculpture studio in the Department of Interior Design, and since 2011. Jerzy Grygorchuk has had 45 individual exhibitions and participated in more than 100 collective competition and outdoor exhibitions in the field of sculpture at home and abroad. He has numerous sculptural and monumental realizations, conservation revaluations of sculptures and a significant number of sacred works in churches throughout the country. He received his first degree qualification from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, and his habilitation from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. He is the recipient of many awards, honors and distinctions. In addition to monumental monumental sculptures, the artist creates small intimate sculptural forms in wood, stone, metals and plastics, which are his reactions to current events and the prevailing social situation.
