Born in 1963, Marek Sułek is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts inWarsaw and the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. From 2000 to 2010 he was a lecturer at the European Academy of Photography in Warsaw. The artist is involved in painting, sculpture and actions in urban space - he has had dozens of exhibitions in Europe and the USA. He represented Poland at Expo 2000 in Hanover and Expo 2015 in Milan. He was awarded as artist of the year by the art magazine "Exit". He is the creator of the concept "Unusual Warsaw", within the framework of which he realized a series of urban projects, including a floating sculpture - "Paper Boat", "Disposable Sculpture", "Pink Tree" by the Palace of Culture and Science and "City of Angels" in Warsaw's Praga district. In cooperation with the authorities of New York, on the second anniversary of the attack on the World Trade Center, the artist realized in the heart of the city a sculpture-installation "A Sliver of Heaven from Manhattan."
