Marc Quinn studied art history at Robinson College, and is a well-known member of the Young British Artists, whose ranks also include Damien Hirst. He was the first artist represented by art dealer Jay Jopling, founder of the White Cube Gallery. He became famous by realizing a sculpture in 1991 - his own self-portrait made of his frozen blood. In his work, the artist engages in a dialogue with the canon of art history, while also drawing attention to the transgression of nature, among other things. In 2000, he created the sculptural installation Garden commissioned by Fondazione Prada. In these sculptures, real flowers in perfect bloom were immersed in frozen silicone oil. This process caused the plants to die at the same time giving an eternal image of themselves. The entire garden gives the impression of a fantastic landscape and is a commentary on the power of human desires to shape and subjugate the natural world.
Similar in tone is the Flower painting series of oil paintings created between 2005 and 2012. The artist began the process of creating them by purchasing flowers and fruits that do not bloom at the same time and would not have the opportunity to exist simultaneously in the natural world, thus showing how human desire has created new seasons. Like the Flower painting series, the offered Bouquet - Love Bomb is composed of the impossible elements of nature to gather at the same time, at the same time the artist enters into a dialogue with the concept of still life or the paintings of Italian painter Giuseppe Arcimboldo.
