Her first works, which brought her international fame, were monumental, spatial tapestries of relief texture - Abakans.
She made sculptures in many techniques and various materials: ceramics, wood, bronze, synthetic materials - both figurative and non-figurative.
She made and completed many projects for public places and museums. From 1965 to 1990 she taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan. She is the author of many erudite essays on art, mythology and religion. In 1965, she was awarded the Grand Prix at the Sao Paulo Biennale. She is ranked among the top artists of the 20th century by world critics.
