Igor Mitoraj (1944, Oederan - 2014, Paris) In 1968 he graduated in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under the direction of Tadeusz Kantor. Immediately after graduation, he went to Paris continuing his studies at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts. He devoted his creative life to sculpture. He made direct references to mythology and the history of Greece and Rome. A characteristic element of Mitoraj's works is the mouth, which always has the shape of the author's lips. His sculptures can be found in representative points of many cities, including Paris on La Défense, Rome, Milan, Lausanne, London, Krakow, Warsaw, Scheveningen near The Hague, in the USA and Japan.
