French sculptor and medalist trained at the Paris Academy of Fine Arts. A pupil of the painter H. Royer. He made his debut at the Salon of 1863, where he exhibited regularly and received an honorary mention in 1883. He created monumental and architectural sculpture, mainly with allegorical, mythological and patriotic themes. Among his favorite motifs were warriors and ancient heroes accompanied by Latin sentences. His sculptures were very popular and were repeatedly reproduced in bronze in excellent French foundries.
