Biography
Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under J. Tautenheim (1897-1900) and at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, in the studio of M. Jouvray, a pupil of Auguste Rodin and Lucien Schnegg. In the period 1914-20, he was a professor at the School of Fine Arts in Warsaw and the Warsaw University of Technology. He was a member of the Society of Polish Artists "Art" and the Rhythm grouping, among others. He exhibited in Warsaw's Zachęta Gallery (from 1900), the Society of Friends of Fine Arts in Cracow (from 1903), and participated in the Venice Biennale in 1920 and 1934. In his early period he created sculptures with symbolic and allegorical themes. Later his style became more monumental. He created portrait busts and monuments.
