Edward Lagowski was born on August 8, 1943 in Brzezinki Nowe, nearwolen. He graduated from the Secondary School of Fine Arts in Kielce - 1964, the same year he began studies at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts at the Department of Sculpture. Studied from 1964-1970 under Prof. Alfred Jesion, Prof. Marian Wnuk, Prof. Oskar Hansen and Prof. Wanda Paklikowska-Winnicka - drawing. Diploma in the atelier of Prof. Oskar Hansen - 1970. He is engaged in sculpture and medal making. He also cultivates drawing and painting. Numerous participation in exhibitions and competitions has given the artist many prestigious awards and prizes. His works are in the collections of more than twenty museums and in private collections at home and abroad. He has participated in sculpture symposia: in Hajnówka, Orońsko, Wdzydze Kiszewskie, Opoczno as well as abroad: Nagyatád (Hungary), Sant Margarethen (Austria), Frunze - Kyrgyzstan. Everywhere there he realized large-scale outdoor sculpture. In each of these cities he held a solo exhibition of his works (intimate sculpture).
In 2014, the Museum of Sports and Tourism organized an individual exhibition of the artist in the Gallery of the Polish Olympic Committee, on the occasion of his 70th birthday.
