Relic in the form of a cross. Wood, 18th/19th century. Height 25 cm. Bohemia, Austria.
Cross intricately carved. Reinforced at the bottom with a steel stud, and at the top with a ferrule with a ring, allowing suspension. The body of the cross is hollow. Access to the interior is provided by a back-mounted, pull-out slat. Inside are relics of nine saints, including: Leo, Bernard, Andrew, Regina. The relics are placed on a filigree. Each wrapped in a banderole with the saint's name handwritten on it. The cross has a slight loss of the left shoulder on the reverse, not visible from the front. Otherwise in very good condition.
