18th century, Baroque box reliquary of St. Hadrian of Caesarea.

Dimensions 50 x 31 x 6 cm. Material: wood, fabric, filigree, glass.

The saint was born in the 3rd century in Hadria, and died on March 5 or 7, 309 in Caesarea Palestine. He became a Christian martyr and a saint of the Catholic Church. Wooden box in typical baroque shapes. Dimensions 50 x 31 x 6 cm. vitrine closed with glass. Wood polychromed in gold and white color. The wood cracked in the vertical axis, as can be seen in the photos. In the central part, on a purple cloth, was placed a relic, bearing an inscription on a ribbon: S.HADRIANIM.The relic was decorated with a composition of silver and gilded filigree and stones. The back of the box was taped and secured with a decorative fabric tape, closing access to the reliquary. in turn, two wax seals with a seal imprint were applied to it. All intact.
