Biography
Studied at the Department of Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (1965-1971), where he graduated with honors. In 1979-1982 he was on the Wilhelm Lehmbruck scholarship from the German government in Duisburg. He is the winner of many national sculpture competitions, including: National Youth Sculpture Exhibition in Cracow (1971), for the Warsaw Uprising monument in Warsaw (1983), as well as foreign ones, including: the award of the Spanish Sailing Federation for the sculpture Sail at the International Biennial of Sport in Fine Arts in Barcelona (1979). He received scholarships from the Ministry of Culture and Art in 1971 and 1974. He is a professor, as well as rector of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts (third term).
