Sylwester Chlodzinski
Sculptor-artist, born in Czestochowa 1965. He completed his journeyman diploma in wood sculpture in the studio of Stanislaw Kijeński.
The artist uses a variety of materials, seeking the language closest to his poetics. He creates both in ceramics, stone and metal (e.g. sculptures made of bicycle chain). He does not shy away from wood and plaster, or soft wax. In each material he finds its uniqueness surrendering to the magic of texture or hardness, the possibility of shaping it.
The artist also has achievements in the restoration profession. Among other things, he restored the Franciscan Sanctuary in Kazimierz-on-Vistula. He also participated in the creation of municipal monuments, including the Jacob Boehme monument in Zgorzelec, the Greater Poland Uprising monument in Brzoza and Barcin, the head of the Mountain Spirit or the Napoleon monument in Pławna. He worked on the decoration and scenography of the Karkonosze Mysteries in Karpacz and the Castle of Silesian Legends. He has participated in many artistic open airs, both Polish and international - the Czech Republic, Spain, Greece. He has had more than a dozen individual and collective exhibitions. His works are in private collections at home and abroad.
