polished bronze, patinated, height 42 cm, signed on the back: 'Stan Wys | 6/8 | 2018'
Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań in 1978-80 and at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin in 1981-86. In 1980 he began an apprenticeship at "Hermann Noack Bildgiesserei," a prestigious sculpture foundry in West Berlin, where he met Henry Moore, to whom he was later compared. In 1986, he returned to the country. In 1990 he opened his own studio near London. The artist has participated in about 30 solo exhibitions and dozens of group exhibitions at home and abroad (including Germany, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, England, Turkey). In his sculptures, the artist uses the shape of a woman's body, making it into a unreal, streamlined form with subtle erotic overtones.
