Bronzed metal composition; overall height 81 cm.
France, Paris, 19th/20th century.
Allegorical sculpture, symbolizing the grandeur of sport: two winged female figures shrouded in flowing robes, in dynamic poses, holding laurel wreaths and feathers. On the base the inscriptions: "FRANCE" and "F. Moreau"; on a circular, profiled pedestal, placed against a rolled cartouche, a brass plaque reads: "GLOIRE AUX SPORTS / Par L. et F. Moreau (Med. D'Or).
