Antoni Trzeszczkowski - a battle painter, active in Częstochowa and later in Warsaw. A participant in the defensive war of 1920. His paintings, alluding thematically and formally to the paintings of Wojciech Kossak, are characterized by good drawing and the freedom and dynamism of horses and fighting soldiers brilliantly captured in motion. He painted military and battle scenes; while most often depicting episodes from Napoleonic campaigns or the 1920 war. He attached great importance to the study of uniform and military equipment, of which he was an expert. He was also involved in illustration; his drawings were included, among others, in "The Book of Infantry Glory" (published in Warsaw 1939).
