etching, aquatint, 8x8 cm, signed p.d.: Stasys
Painter, poster artist, creator of ex-librises, drawings, book illustrations, happenings, installations. He is an internationally renowned artist of Lithuanian origin, who has lived permanently in Poland since 1980. He belongs to the category of unruly artists, against whom all attempts at classification will fail. From his rich oeuvre emerges the image of an extremely dynamic artist, seeking his own way of expression and strong expression both in the visual arts - painting, drawing, sculpture, as well as multimedia activities and theatrical performances. However, all his realizations are united by a specific atmosphere of surrealism with touches of irony and grotesque.
Stasys' works are in the collections of the National Museums in Warsaw, Poznan, Wroclaw and Szczecin, the Poster Museum in Wilanow, the British Museum in London, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the National Library in Washington, Creation Gallery in Tokyo, the Vatican Museum in Rome and private collections around the world.
