KUKRYNIKSY - Kolchak, a caricature of an "enemy of the Soviet Union," by members of the "Kukryniksy" group [M.Kuprianov, P.Krylov, N.Sokolov], which created caricatures targeting enemies of the Soviet Union, propaganda posters and socialist realist paintings.
Alexander Kolchak [1874-1920] naval admiral, polar explorer, participant in the Russo-Japanese War and World War I. In 1916-17, commander of the Black Sea Fleet. During the Russian Civil War, he was one of the commander-in-chief of the anti-Bolshevik movement. In 1918, he was minister of war and navy in the All-Russian Provisional Government. In 1920 he was arrested by the Bolsheviks and executed.
