Color woodcut / tissue paper, signed on woodblock " ŻW" and signed and dated in pencil underneath: "W. Żurawski 1935". Dimension in light of passe-partout: 27.5 x 21 cm.
Good condition. Painter, graphic artist, educator. Educated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under W. Weiss and J. Malczewski, studied graphic arts under J. Pankiewicz. In 1922 he left briefly for Paris. He practiced woodcuts from around 1928, inspired by the work of Skoczylas. He was keen on Hutsul themes, religious subjects, hunting scenes, his favorites included nudes.
