He studied drawing in Lviv with Kazimierz Sichulski. As a teenager, he joined the Legions, and in the 1920s he collaborated with satirical magazines: Barber of Warsaw and Lviv's Szczutek. In 1941 he arrived in New York.
E. Smigly Rydz wrote: "... Czermanski's drawing gives one of the sharpest and best observed characterizations of Marshal Pilsudski".
