Karol Ferdinand Vasa was a prince of Poland, bishop of Wrocław, bishop of Plock, prince of Nysa, prince of Opole and Racibórz, prince of Pultusk, abbot of Czerwinsk, Mogil and Tyniec. He was never ordained a priest. In 1648 he competed for the Polish throne. From 1651 he took care of the orphaned Michał Korybut Wiśniowiecki.
