Veristic portrait of an elderly, bearded man with his face shown en face, covered in wrinkles and surrounded by curly hair and beard. An excellent portrait study by a prominent Belgian artist, who came from an artistic family of painters and printmakers, founders of the Antwerp printmaking society. Willen Linnig Jrok (1842 - 1880) is the author of more than 120 graphic works and numerous paintings, mostly on historical subjects.
