etching, dry needle, paper, print size 17.7 x 24.8 cm, signed in pencil p. d. "Ossecki", 1930s.
Author Wilhelm (Wilk) Ossecki (1892 - 1958) was a painter, printmaker and pedagogue, a student of Wojciech Weiss and Józef Pankiewicz at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. Associated with Greater Poland, he was one of the more active artists of this community in the 1920s. Thoroughly trained also as a museologist and musicologist, he was curator of the Wilanów Palace Museum in the 1930s. Poznan motifs often appear in his work, especially in his graphics.
